LASG, AfDB Launch AFAWA Project to Support 610 Women-Led Businesses

The Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), has partnered with the African Development Bank (AfDB) to launch the Affirmative Finance Action for Women in Africa (AFAWA) Women Entrepreneurship Project. The initiative targets 610 women-led businesses in Lagos State.

The project aims to strengthen women-owned micro, small and medium-sized enterprises by improving access to finance, developing business management skills and creating opportunities for business growth. Planned support includes training, mentorship, business advisory services and market linkages.

The initiative is intended to help women entrepreneurs overcome barriers to finance and build more sustainable businesses. However, the specific funding amounts, eligibility requirements and application process have not yet been confirmed in the public information reviewed.

Women entrepreneurs interested in the programme should monitor announcements from the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund for official registration details.
